While camping and hiking in Arches National Monument it rained like crazy. While the rainy weather made hiking more challenging it proved the worth of "The Little Guy". Our last rainy hike at Arches proved fatal to my phone, the source of many of the photos on the blog. Today I retrieved the phone from the truck, charged it and found that it was working again. What follows are photos that would have been posted had they been available.
Santa Fe hosts an absolutely terrific farmer's market on Saturdays. The market features regonal growers, most of which are certified organic. We had two fun filled days with Doty and Carroll. On Thursday we took a ride up to Taos to tour around and get a meal. We took the low road to Taos and checked out the Rio Grand Gorge. On Friday we stayed in Santa Fe and checked out the aspens on the Sangre de Christo Mountains. In the late afternoon we strolled the galleries on Canyon Road. After two mornings of below freezing temperatures we took our cue from the ancient pueblans of Mesa Verde and started to make our way to Santa Fe. Our first stop was Durango for a hueves rancheros lunch at the Durango Diner. We only spent a few hours in town but liked it enough to add to our list of places we'd like to return to. Our next stop was Pagosa Springs for a camp out and soak at the hot springs. |
