We've left the coast and moved to the desert. We have taken up residence in a cozy studio in Joshua Tree, CA.
Across the studio is the trail to Coyote Hole.
And plants as well.

San Diego is a hot bed of craft brewing. There are over a hundred brewers in the area and we sampled a lot of local brew. Stone Brewing Company is one of the largest brewers and they have a very slick setup. They made their mark on the craft brew scene with their hoppy ales. The Stone brewery is not just a brewery with a bar. Oh no! There's a gift shop with all manner of apparel and gift items bearing the Stone logo. They have a very slick restaurant with good food and an eye popping beer garden. After leaving San Diego we ventured up the coast to South Carlsbad Beach Campground. The campground is a ribbon of land atop a bluff which over looks the Pacific. We snagged a spot oceanside. In the interest of full disclosure, when you weren't gazing at the water this is what awaited you. But that was not an issue when you decended the bluff to walk or ride the beach. We left San Diego behind- but not the ocean. We are camping two nights on the beach in Carlsbad before turning east for the desert. Meanwhile here are photos from our last days in SD. The other city by the bay... Ocean views, sky scrapers and people out exercising all coexist in San Diego. Camping in San Diego? We are staying in the Pacific Beach neighborhood where there are miles of bike paths, laid back coffee shops and neighborhood restaurants. All within easy access without having to brave the freeways! We spent three days basking in the beautiful natural and supernatural area surrounding Borrego Springs, CA. |
