Walking around town is one of our favorite activities. There are lots of different neighborhoods to explore.
This morning we walked east on Alameda St. Heading uphill along the river, we passed the state courthouse where arguments for gay marriage were heard by State Supreme Court.
Yes, there really is a river.
It was cold enough to form a thin layer of ice on this fountain. It didn't take long for the sun to melt it.
We crossed over to Canyon Rd. at the top of the hill.
The first sculpture we found was this guy.
He and Shelly swapped stories.
This is one of the older neighborhoods in Santa Fe . This hacienda was built in the early 1800's and is being restored by the historical society.
Canyon Rd is lined with art galleries and lots of sculpture gardens.
Clearly, heads roll in this neighborhood.
Art as door knocker
Breakfast @ Clafouti's ( great coffee shop and French bakery)
We went to a Japanese kite show @ the folk art museum
There was a great video of a three day kite festival in Japan. Teams of kiters launch large kites on either side of the river, try to knock each other out of the sky, and then have a tug of war with the tangled kites.
